I’m back with a review of the latest fashion week, this time featuring haute couture looks for 2018 by amazing high fashion brands such as Elie Saab, Chanel, Zuhair Murad, and many more.
This fashion week focused on a major blast from the past which took most of these designers back to their most famous designs/collections in the early 2000’s. Many of the looks that designers like Zuhair Murad chose to showcase were basically remakes of old designs.
However, I still enjoyed the 2018 versions of these dresses, so here’s a look at my top three favorite designers!
1. Elie Saab
Although there were quite a few similarities between the dresses on the runway with the dresses in last years runway, the designs still managed to take my breath away. I always love Elie Saab’s designs, they are the true definition of haute couture and can make any girl feel like a princess!
Chanel’s designs were a bit too simplistic for my taste, but I still loved their design. In my head, haute couture is the definition of extravagant dressing, and Chanel managed to capture that, but I wish they had managed to capture it in all their dresses. There was also a lack of color, but Karl managed to pull it off with the use of silhouettes for the dresses.
3. Ralph and Russo
Ralph and Russo managed to blow me away with their amazing designs! I’m so in love with every single dress that they came out with. They managed to come out with designs that were different from what others were doing.
I think they managed to pull off “wearable” haute couture looks, looks that aren’t so impractical to wear yet they still make a statement. I think Ralph and Russo had the best designs out of all the other designers.
I hope you enjoyed this quick post on my favorite haute couture looks 🙂
