My Thoughts on PSFW 2017

Hey, guys!

Last week was the 10th annual PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in Lahore, Pakistan. I know I’m a bit late with this post, but I wanted to share my favorite collections and designers from this fashion week.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this year’s PSFW. Many of Pakistan’s major fashion designers like HSY, Ali Xeeshan, Saira Rizwan, Saira Shakira, Khaadi Khaas, and Sapphire all came together to showcase some really amazing luxury pret collections!

Even though I loved what the majority of designers came out with, I’m only going to talk about my absolute favorite collections from this fashion week.

1. Cross Stitch: “Holographic Memory”

This collection was designed for the strong confident woman, and it incorporated luxurious fabrics and unique embellishments.

Personally, I loved the solid colors with hints of embellishments used in this collection. I  felt like these outfits could be worn to the office, or even at a dinner party. I also really liked how these outfits incorporated trends like flared pants, ruffles, and off the shoulder tops, but still made the clothing appropriate for more formal and businesslike environments.

I think Cross Stitch perfectly embodied the strong, confident woman they wanted to portray in this collection.

2. Saira Rizwan: “Summer of Love”

Inspired by the “Beat Generation” literary movement from the 1960’s, Saira Rizwan celebrated the message of peace and love over war.

This collection truly stole my heart! I loved every piece from this collection because all the outfits were so perfect for the summer, and they added a classy twist to the latest trends of 2017. The only thing I would say is that this wasn’t really a luxury pret collection in my opinion because a lot of the outfits could be worn on a casual basis. That being said, I adored Saira Rizwan’s use of colors and prints to come up with the perfect summer collection!

3. Sania Maskatiya: “Sania Studio Cruise Collection 2017”

I really loved the minimalist feel of this collection. The use of floral designs and the flowingness of her outfits really screamed summer to me. The title of her collection is a perfect description of the outfits in the collection. Whenever I see the designs she showcased I think of myself relaxing on a cruise somewhere while wearing the clothes :D. I think this is a very chic collection and something I would love to get my hands on.

4. Shiza Hassan: “Lolita”

Based on the 1970’s style movement in Japan, this collection incorporates an East meets West theme.

This collection looked more like a luxury pret one in my eyes. It featured some really beautiful embroidery and used some really beautiful fabrics to create a very chic yet trendy look. I also loved how the cast of Chalay Thay Saath walked the ramp for Shiza Hassan. Overall, this collection was very beautiful.

5. Khaadi Khaas: “The Nomad”

Tracing the footsteps of the Central Asian travelers, this collection features the heritage and culture of the land.

The Nomad really impressed me because it stood out from the rest of the designers. Instead of focusing on trends, this collection focused on taking us back to tradition with rich fabrics and an ethnic style. I love how Khaadi incorporated all these different aspects of their design to create something traditional without looking outdated.
