Last year, my mom surprised us by booking a hotel for the whole family at the “Massanutten Resort” which is somewhere in the middle of Virginia.
Now we were told that this was going to be a resort, and my mom actually bought it because they were promising $100 gift cards to whoever booked with them.
We went there in the end of October because this “resort” was in the mountains and we wanted to see the fall colors! When we were driving there, it immediately got very scary for us, there were Confederate flags flying everywhere, and the people didn’t look very welcoming after noticing our different ethnicity.
We checked in and entered the resort, which turned out to be just a set of Timeshare properties that weren’t really well kept. The next day, an agent took us on a tour just to try and sell the timeshare properties.
I have to admit it was a scenic, area, but nothing looked like what was promised to us. Long story short, they gave my mom the $100 gift card, which turned out to be connected to my dad’s credit card (it was a huge scam)
Here are some pictures of the scenery (the only good thing about the trip)
