I’m so glad to finally be able to make a blog post! I know it’s been ages, but I did take a little trip to Pakistan which I will be making a post about soon 🙂 . Also, right when I came back, my uni started so I was really busy! I just got a little time now to sit down and catch up on my favorite things.
I know it’s the last day of January, but I couldn’t skip out on this month’s my favorite things post, so hope you enjoy!
1. Velvet Shawls
Since I just came back from Pakistan, most of my favorite things are going to be from there 😁. I fell in love with velvet shawls when I was there. Everywhere I went people were selling or buying velvet shawls. It was the most popular winter accessory for the wedding season.
These shawls are absolutely perfect for any occasion. They add a very royal/glamorous feel to any outfit. You can also mix and match these shawls with many different outfits which really helps get the wear out of them.
2. Kalamkari Shawls
Another beautiful winter accessory I just recently found out about while in Pakistan, kalamkari shawls are a blend of hand painting and embroidery. They are usually very colorful and feature many traditional designs.
I just love the fact that these shawls can be worn many different ways, with traditional clothes as well as my everyday jeans and a shirt. I actually purchased a stole size version of this shawl.
3. David Yurman Chatelaine Ring
I saw these rings on David Yurman’s Instagram and instantly fell in love! They are so delicate yet they make a statement, but at $950 they are also quite expensive for 18k gold. So instead of trying to save up about $3,000 for these rings, my mom, my sister, and I decided to get them made in Pakistan.
We got them in our birthstones and I am so in love with mine! The jeweler couldn’t get the gem stone in the middle to be as square as the one in the picture, so the rings are a little different because of the rounder stones. You can see how my ring turned out on my Instagram!
4. Samreen Vance Jewelry
Samreen Vance is another Pakistani jewelry brand but she’s actually based in the U.S.. I fell in love with her jewelry after seeing many Pakistani celebrities wearing her pieces for different events. Even though she’s a bit more expensive than other designers, I think this jewelry would be great to wear to weddings or other big events.
I hope you guys enjoyed my favorite things for this month!
