The Five Best Songs from Coke Studio Season 10

Hi guys!

I’m back with something a little different than what I usually do 🙂 . I really wanted to do a post about my favorite songs from Coke Studio Season 10. For those of you that don’t know, Coke Studio is a Pakistani TV show that features live music, created exclusively for the show.

I’m a huge fan of Coke Studio and I’ve been following their work for quite some time. I absolutely love what they do and the fact that they promote Pakistani singers as well as how they introduce listeners to different cultures and languages that exist in Pakistan. They really help broaden your view of everything that is out there in regards to music.

Here is my list of my five favorite songs from the latest Coke Studio season!

1. Muntazir

This was Momina Mustehsan’s second Coke Studio song and Danyal Zafar’s debut and I have to say that they killed it with this song. I loved the softness of this song and the lyrics were beautiful.

2. Tinak Dhin

3. Dekh Tera Kya/Latthe Di Chadar

Quratulain Balouch is my favorite singer ever and I loved all the songs she did in this season’s Coke Studio, but this one has to be my favorite! This was the perfect mashup of two songs and I think QB and Farhan Saeed killed it.

4. Jindjaani

This song was another sort of mashup of two songs and I really loved it! Ali Hamza and Nirmal Roy did an amazing job with their vocals.

5. Sab Maya Hai

Last but certainly not least, Sab Maya Hai by Attaullah Esakhelvi and his son! I think this song was melodious and the message in the song was thought-provoking as well. Definitely, something I have on repeat these days!

That’s it for this short list of my top five favorite Coke Studio Season 10 songs. I wish I could include more, but then this list would go on forever and be so boring 🙂 . I also loved Naina Moray, Jaan-e-Baharaan, Baazi, Julie, Laal Meri Paat, and Faasle.

Although I loved this season, I really wish Coke Studio would have included a broader range of singers as some singers, like QB and Ali Zafar, sang three-four songs which are quite a lot for one season. I especially wish Atif Aslam had joined this seasons lineup.

I also wish that there would’ve been more languages and folk songs included Coke Studio as well. But let’s see what they come out with next year 🙂
