U.K. Diaries: Touchdown at Manchester! (with day trips to Lake District and Liverpool)

Finally! The first post about my amazing European vacation!

I actually got a chance to explore much of the United Kingdom because I had family there. By the end of my trip, I  felt like I’d been living there my whole life 🙂 . The United Kingdom is truly beautiful, and I fell so deeply in love with it!

Manchester

I spent four weeks in England, staying in Manchester for two of those weeks. Our flight landed in Manchester because my uncle lived there and we were planning on staying with him.

I really liked Manchester! Even though they were going through a heat wave at that time, the weather was still amazing (way cooler than America). I love the atmosphere of Manchester and the tiny houses they had.

Favorite spots: Trafford Center (the most beautiful mall ever!), Media City, and the City Centre

Favorite food: Halal Subway, Nandos, and KFC !

Media City! Where all the big media (like BBC) is located. We got a chance to sit on the red couch that they use in their morning show

Can you believe this is a shopping mall! Very rare to see anything like this in the U.S.A

Lake District:

Lake District took my breath away! We spent a day there and it was absolutely breathtaking. A true English vacation spot, Lake District was an ideal place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Liverpool:

We also decided to spend a day in Liverpool. I didn’t really like it that much, but we had a nice time there. We explored the city center and visited the Merseyside Maritime Museum for the Titanic exhibition there.

I think Manchester, Liverpool, and Lake District are great to visit for a day trip. A lot of tourists prefer to visit London, but I really recommend visiting these places if you have some extra time and really want to get immersed into the English lifestyle.

I’m so glad to went to Liverpool!! I was there for this week, just came back and I loved it! It’s a shame you didn’t like it that much😔 You should have checked out the Mersey cruises, it’s I tour in a pretty big boat going past all of Liverpool’s features and tourist attractions – such a fun time!

I’m go glad you got to experience our heat wave because that was practically a week of summer for us. It rained non stop afterwards, typical Manchester! Lool!
